Role of The Machiya Machizukuri Fund

Kyoto Center for Community Collaboration is approved as the Public Interest Incorporated Foundation by Act on Authorization of Public Interest Incorporated Associations and Public Interest Incorporated Foundation from Prefectural Governor of Kyoto.

The Machiya Machizukuri Fund was set up to protect the history and culture of Kyoto. The charitable donations to the fund are invested and used to protect and promote Machiya as traditional town housing culture. The Fund is used for the project to preserve and create historical Kyoto scenery. Through the work of the fund, people can experience special Kyoto life styles, traditional architectural culture and methods of town creation.
